The Hult Prize is a massive (650+ Universities) global platform for student-led innovation and entrepreneurship. Founded in 2009 by entrepreneur Ahmad Ashkar, it was named ‘One of the Top 5 Ideas Changing the World’ in 2012 by President Clinton and TIME Magazine. Just this year, 8 of the ‘Forbes Top 30 Under 30 Entrepreneurs Changing The World’ were individuals who founded their companies as part of the Hult Prize annual accelerator.
Hult Prize 2017 Challenge, invites millennials from over 100 countries to craft new business models that will measurably restore the rights and dignity of 10 million refugees along one of five dimensions of the human experience: Place, Community, Learning, Ownership, and Opportunity.
Application deadline was 27th Dec 2016. 155 Startup Idea Applications were received from 50+ Universities across Pakistan. 25 Shortlisted Teams pitched their Ideas to a Judges Panel comprising Industrial experts at Hult Prize Pakistan National Event hosted by National Incubation Center, Islamabad on 4th Jan.
Top 6 Ideas were shortlisted on Day-1 of the event. On Day-2 6 Ideas presented again to a Judging Panel comprising of Industrial Leaders.
Hult Prize Pakistan National Event was organized on 04/05th of January, 2017 at the National Incubation Center, Islamabad.
The Top-3 teams of National Event are awarded with:
- Slot at Regional Finals on Hult Prize (Dubai/ Shanghai/London/San Francisco/Boston )
- Free 1 Year Incubation at National Incubation Center, Islamabad
- IBM Global Entrepreneur Program
- Seed Investment opportunity by 10xC and PlanetN
- Wildcard entry at Plan9 Launch-pads
From IBM, we were there with HultPrize team management to organized the event with full scale. Our mentors and Judges were there for the mentorship;
Further, we were continuously interacting with each team to boost them for their pitches. Also, we were there with management and social media team to promote the event.
On both days of the event, we have got great participation of teams who pitch their projects very well;
After the great pitches we sit together to discuss the pitches;
And finally we had our winners with us;
It was wonderful competition for all of us and we announce GEP for winners;
The Winners of this stage move to the SemiFinal stage in Dubai.
